A lovely start to 2025 with a road trip to Spain for the Spanish Arboricultural Association’s veteran tree conference. We also had the opportunity to work with and document the work of Fabian, a traditional tree worker, learning about the traditional techniques to manage in-cycle, and management options for lapsed trees. These trees have been managed for generations, producing acorns and wood fuel while supporting cattle, sheep, and Iberian pigs in the dehesas of rural Spain.
