Tree Support Systems – Cable Bracing, Rod Bracing and Propping
East Devon Tree Care can provide expert arboricultural advice and practical solutions for installing tree support systems such as static cable bracing, rod bracing, and props.
Cable Bracing Installations and Inspections
Cable bracing provides a proportionate, cost-effective way to manage risk in valuable or high-amenity trees and extend their safe lifespan without the need for heavy pruning. It can help
reduce the likelihood of structural failure by limiting movement between weak or co-dominant stems, and can provide additional support to weak or heavy limbs and unions.
Many cable bracing systems have a limited lifespan due to deterioration of system components over time and as such, these systems should be inspected periodically to ensure they remain safe and effective. If you have concerns over the integrity of cable bracing installed in one of your trees, we offer aerial inspections to ensure they are correctly installed and fit for purpose.
We can also provide an installation service for static cable bracing systems. Please get in touch to receive a quotation.
Rod Bracing
Rod bracing involves installing threaded steel rods through weak or split sections of a tree’s main limbs or trunk to restore structural integrity and prevent further separation. The rods are fitted internally through drilled holes, creating a discreet but strong mechanical connection that stabilises unions while allowing natural movement and growth.
