{"id":576,"date":"2009-10-28T10:19:57","date_gmt":"2009-10-28T09:19:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eastdevontreecare.co.uk\/treesurgery\/?p=576"},"modified":"2012-06-08T13:40:12","modified_gmt":"2012-06-08T12:40:12","slug":"arboricultural-association-approved-contractor-status","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eastdevontreecare.co.uk\/treesurgery\/arboricultural-association-approved-contractor-status\/","title":{"rendered":"Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor Status"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2008 we were examined and assessed by the Arboricultural Association and proudly qualified as Approved Contractors for the industry.\u00a0 So what exactly does this status mean for our customers?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">We are regularly inspected by the leading professional body<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">All our work is to the current BRITISH STANDARDS<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">Qualified staff<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">Fully Insured<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">Health &amp; Safety policies and practices<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">Knowledge and technical competence<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">Wide range of equipment<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">Sensitivity to the environment<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">Excellent customer service and administrative working practices<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"surgery\">The objectives of the Association are:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">To advance the study of Arboriculture<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">To raise the standards of its practice<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">To foster interest in trees through publications, exhibitions and the stimulation of research or experiment<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">To assist in the training of students in disciplines where arboriculture is a major subject<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"surgery\">To co-operate with other bodies having similar aims<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"surgery\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastdevontreecare.co.uk\/treesurgery\/wp-content\/uploads\/approved-contractor-collective-registered.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-583 lazyload\" title=\"AA approved contractor\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.eastdevontreecare.co.uk\/treesurgery\/wp-content\/uploads\/approved-contractor-collective-registered-150x150.png\" alt=\"AA approved contractor\" width=\"90\" height=\"90\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 90px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 90\/90;\" \/><\/a>Of particular importance is the publication of an annual updated directory, the Directory of Approved Contractors and Registered Consultants. Rigorous standards of assessment are applied to anyone who qualifies to be entered in either directory.<\/p>\n<p>The companies listed have been approved by the Council of the Association as complying with, and practicing to, the standard required by the Association. The companies have been examined for safe working practices and technical competence consistent with British Standard 3998: Recommendations for Tree Work, 1989.<\/p>\n<p class=\"surgery\">The work undertaken by the Contractors includes advice on maintenance requirements, planting, tree pruning, cable bracing, pest and disease control and the felling of trees in difficult positions. The Arboricultural Association expects very high standards which restrict the number of successful applicants. Because of the irrevocable nature of all operations concerning tree care these standards are carefully maintained by inspection of the recommended contractors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"surgery\">We are also a professional member of the Association\u00a0which means we are regularly updated and informed of scientific and technical developments through the scientific Arboricultural Journal and kept up to date of the latest arboricultural techniques and best practice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2008 we were examined and assessed by the Arboricultural Association and proudly qualified as Approved Contractors for the industry.\u00a0 So what exactly does this status mean for our customers?
