Following the removal of a large tree, the last part of the job is getting rid the stump. Many homeowners are tempted to skip this final step due to additional cost, but you’ll be much happier if you take care of stump removal right after you remove the tree.

In order to plant a new lawn where the tree was located, or plant another tree in the same spot, complete stump removal is a necessity. All of the stump must be removed if you want to plant another tree in the same location. The stump can be entirely ground out or can be ground six inches below the surface of the ground. Major roots should also be ground.

Any woodchip produced from grinding out the stump makes a perfect composter to put on flowerbeds or pathways if required.
