MAIN MENU
A Crown Reduction is a more extensive form of pruning and is used to:
· Reduce the weight of potentially dangerous limbs.
· Balance a misshapen tree, for example, following storm damage, or after bad pruning.
· Prevent trees obstructing or damaging buildings and property.
· Prevent trees from interfering with overhead telephone and power lines.
· Remove die back of a mature tree which is undergoing natural retrenchment of or modification of its crown size.
Crown Thinning is a technique used to allow more light through to the crown without altering the overall shape and size of the tree.

Crossing or rubbing branches are removed together with diseased wood.

The tree is then pruned to reduce the crown density whilst improving the crown structure and retaining natural form and shape.
